WITI-TV, SHEBOYGAN - Wisconsin becomes the center of the golf world for a week when Haven's Whistling Straits Golf Course hosts the PGA Championship. Tourism officials say the tournament is sure to bring a lot of dollars to the dairy state. 300,000 people are expected to be in Wisconsin for the PGA Tournament.

President of the Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau Kathleen Galas says, "We want to give our PGA visitors a grand welcome...We expect that the economic impact of the 92nd Annual PGA will be significant."

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism estimates the PGA Championship will bring in $80M over the course of the four day tournament. That will impact the whole region, estimated to be a 60 mile radius around Whistling Straits as far north as Green Bay. Galas says, "Green Bay, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Plymouth, Kohler, Elkhart Lake, we're all showing some good significant numbers for the visit of the PGA. It will increase the impact of our restaurants, our dining, of course our hotels."
